In order to comply with the latest requirements, you will need to complete an online identity check and video recording of the entire sample collection process (approx.10-15 minutes) when collecting your sample in order to receive your result:
The COVID-19 saliva test meets the highest standards for molecular detection of SARS-CoV-2. It is a real-time RT-PCR that is accepted as the highest standard in all countries.
The question of whether COVID-19 is detectable is answered by direct molecular biological detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus or its RNA components using a simple, non-invasive saliva sample. The corresponding diagnostics reliably enable the conclusion to be drawn as to whether SARS-CoV-2 is detectable in a person at the time the saliva sample is taken. This is independent of whether symptoms are present or not.
It is an easy-to-use saliva test kit for self-collection of a saliva sample at home or at work.
Transmission of SARS-CoV-2 by asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic persons has been described and also occurs during the incubation period of max. 14 days. The analysis is carried out Monday-Saturday, the result is usually available on the same day and at the latest on the following day of sample receipt.
The analysis is carried out as a non-compulsory service of the health insurance company, no reclaim vouchers are generated.
The presence of COVID-19 can only be detected by means of a test using suitable sample material (saliva sample or nasopharyngeal swab). With so-called RT-PCR tests even asymptomatic virus carriers are detected, in contrast to the antigen tests that have been widespread up to now. Furthermore, more and more countries require a negative SARS-CoV-2 PCR test for entry, which is why a negative PCR laboratory result is becoming increasingly important. However, the validity of such a result depends on the entry regulations and is subject to the approval of the respective national authorities at the destination.
Positive detection of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) is notifiable. In the event of a positive test result, the laboratory is legally obliged to forward the necessary data to the authorities (Federal Office of Public Health and cantonal physician). In the case of a negative test result, only the client is informed.
